Life balancing projects

This program is designed to provide one-on-one or Group mentoring relationships between adult mentors and youth mentees. The mentors will provide guidance and support to the mentees in areas such as academic achievement, career development, personal development, and life skills. The mentees will benefit from the mentors' experience, knowledge, and wisdom.

Goals

The goals of this program are to:

Provide one-on-one and group mentoring relationships between adult mentors and youth mentees.

Help mentees achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.

Increase mentees' self-confidence and self-esteem.

Help mentees develop positive relationships with role models.

Provide mentees with a safe and supportive environment in which to learn and grow.

Target Population

The target population for this program is youth ages 16-23 who are: At risk of academic failure, facing challenges in their personal or family life, interested in developing their career skills, Looking for a positive role model.

Mentoring Process

The mentoring process will start with monthly training programs facilitated by a trained staff member. The mentors and mentees will be matched based on their interests, goals, and availability. The mentors and mentees will meet regularly, either in person or virtually. The frequency and duration of the meetings will be determined by the mentor and mentee.

Mentor Training

All mentors will be required to complete a training program that covers the following topics:

The mentoring process, Communication skills, Active listening skills, Problem-solving skills, Conflict resolution skills, Confidentiality.

Mentee Screening

All mentees will be screened to ensure that they are a good fit for the program. The screening process will include an interview with the mentee and their parent or guardian.

Evaluation

The program will be evaluated on a regular basis to assess its effectiveness. The evaluation will include surveys of the mentors, mentees, and parents.

Sectors of the project

The project focuses on different parts or sectors of the life that is needed to balance by the mentees:

  1. The spiritual sector: the key of the actions of the mentees, the sector which gives stability for the mentees life, and the sector which eliminates or decreases the drug addiction behaviors through strengthening the spiritual sector.

  2. The economic sector: intends to get mentees who can create his/her own economic way of life by giving entrepreneurship trainings and technical skills.

  3. The educational sector: intends to get educated student who behaves and thinks as an educated and responsible in their society.

  4. The social sector: sector which targets to prepare useful student for his community, a student who interests enhancing and supporting his society. Sector which aims increasing the patriotism behavior.

  5. The health sector: a sector which aims to keep the survival of the student from any unhealthy conditions and aims also protecting the defense system of the personality of the student by doing exercises and taking guidance toward his meal program from expert professionals. 

  6. Self-development sector: a sector which acts like the machine of the students, it concerns topics like self-esteem, self-awareness, goal setting strategy, mindset, self-confidence, time management, emotional intelligence and others.
